A Letter From The Founder
We made this for my father.
He was having trouble sleeping — not the kind of trouble you can fix with a better mattress or a warmer room, but the kind that comes from the weight of a blanket resting on feet that can no longer bear it. Anyone who has watched someone they love lose sleep this way knows how quietly it wears a person down. Nights become something to get through instead of something that restores you.
And my father was not the only one the problem touched. My mother kept a beautiful home, and she made their bed every morning of her life. As he came to need more rest, she was quietly determined that the room where he spent his days would go on looking like their home — made up, lovely, theirs — never like a hospital ward.
So the solution we built had to answer the two of them at once. A simple, carefully engineered device that lifts the bedding up and away from the feet and legs, creating a small pocket of stillness at the end of the bed — then collapses with one hand and disappears beneath the linens when the bed is made. He got his comfort. She got her beautiful room. And each of them, I have come to believe, was most grateful for what it gave the other.
We named it Asigh, because that is the sound it makes possible. Not a gadget sound, not a medical sound. Just a sigh. The sound of relief.
Here is what I did not expect: I became my own best customer. What began as a solution for my father turned out to be a necessity I did not know I needed until I tried it. I have slept with an Asigh under my own bedding every night for three years now, and I no longer know how to sleep without it. That is not a claim I make lightly. I spent decades in a profession where words had to be precise and promises had to be kept, and I hold this product to that standard. It is under my covers tonight. It will be under them tomorrow.
Those three years taught me something else. As I navigated life's changes and challenges, sleep became more important to me, not less. The deeper and more restful my sleep, the better my mood, my thinking, my whole sense of wellness. In a world where sleep is often elusive — almost a luxury — finding solutions becomes paramount. I did not read that somewhere. I lived it.
People sometimes ask why I chose to build this brand now, at this point in my life. The honest answer is that building is what I do, and always has been — a lifetime spent learning to recognize a real need and answer it with real work. Asigh is that recognition again: millions of people lose sleep to something a well-made object can fix, and almost no one is taking the problem seriously with any grace.
That is the word I keep returning to. Grace. The products in this category tend to look and sound like hospital equipment. But needing relief at night is not a clinical condition. It is a human one. It deserves a product designed for a home, not a ward — something you would be unembarrassed to have in the most personal room of your house.
This year, I am stepping into ownership of the company. Asigh is becoming a woman-owned business, run by the person who uses the product every night and answers for every promise it makes. That matters to me. When you write to us, you are writing to the founder. When something is not right, I am the one who wants to know.
We are a small company with one very good idea, built for the quiet hours. If the weight of the blankets has been costing you — or someone you love — a good night's sleep, I hope you will let us help.
Sleep like you used to.
